Juliette McNamara, LCSW

I moved to the Asheville area 10 years ago after completing my Master of Psychology degree at Wake Forest University. I then went on to pursue a second master’s degree in social work and earn my license in clinical social work (LCSW).

Prior to living in Asheville, I have lived all across the United States. My upbringing gave me a multitude of different cultural experiences that have shaped who I am. I landed in Asheville, not only because of its natural beauty but because of the people who live here. Asheville, as a city, embodies acceptance. The people of Asheville are open-minded and accepting of its inhabitants and those who visit. For these reasons, Asheville is the perfect place for me to practice.

I have gratitude for the opportunity to get to know and understand people and how they are shaped by their experiences. In my work, I use multiple modalities as well as my many years of experience to develop individualized treatment plans for my clients. In the work that we do, my hope is that you will feel a sense of relief and accomplishment as you progress towards your personal mental health goals.

I believe that each individual is entitled to a safe space to share their experience and to be provided with helpful tools so that they may navigate the world more effectively. I believe that when people are able to communicate their feelings and validate the feelings of their loved ones they experience less stress and feel more fulfilled with life.
